Dansk Sport fit ?
Assembling my new built motor last night I was installing the SSIs. The new Dansk Sport (92.511S) seem to end up slightly closer to the engine than other mufflers I had on the car. There is no space for the hanger bracket... Any advice from the forum on what to do ?

If it were me I would make a muffler end extender and gasket it on either side for the width needed to use the bracket. Kinda sucks that one would have to do this but you do what you have to do. You could also take your muffler to an auto parts place and see if there are any pipes that have the same end footprint as what you need or similar and modify. My 2 cents.

Have you tried installing the bracket first then the muffler and go around thightening the four bolts a little at a time and see if it comes together.

I tried first with bracket on but not possible. Will make alu spacers with gaskets either side. Not a big problem

.... or multiple gaskets if that provides enough clearance.
From your photo under the car, the muffler would typically fit much closer to the license plate panel. Maybe a combination of new muffler and heat exchangers? Sherwood |

CORRECTION; I did the test fit WITHOUT gaskets. Mistake. With gasket there is space for the bracket. It makes light contact with the metal tin but not really an issue. With double gaskets it is perfect, no spacer required
