Can someone tell me if this oil line can be rebuilt
 

I have a 1968 2.0L engine. My understanding is that the OEM line has been replaced with a hose. I want to rebuild this oil line that goes under the transmission and connects to the oil tank. The OEM part number is 90110733112. Where can I buy the hose and fittings. This looks like a pretty easy job.

Item 18 on the diagram.

DS... Hydraulic place would have end-fittings and hose. Am not familiar with that connection between the hose end-fitting and hard line. I'd bring entire length and tell hydraulic place to solve puzzle. Need oil & high temp hose as opposed to any hose.

You can bring all of them to a local hydraulic shop so they can see it. Most likely, they will only rebuild the rubber hose part and crimped fitting The metal tubing and compression fitting is reusable by design.

Try Len Cummings aka boxterGT here on pelican. He's your best bet, all the hydraulic shops I visited when in need of repairs just had stupid looks on their faces when I told them the lines were from a Porsche.

All you need is the exact size hose and them it just screws together. The exact size metric hose is the issue.

I've been dealing with Len Cummings for about two months now and he is not your best bet. Parts Klassic has a custom metric hose service.

Your oil lines have reusable aluminum fittings made by TechnoChemie (TCh). They can be rebuilt. The hose is DN16 hose (18mmID x 25,5 OD) made by Cohline. I only make the larger, DN20 hose (22mmID x 30.5mm OD) fittings used in '70-'71, but you can contact Brad Davis at HBD Products & he can set you up with both the small fittings and the hose that you need.

I just used AN-16 stainless braided. Older cars may need -12 hose.

I did look into the AN-16 and AN-12 stainless braided lines. The ID and OD wouldn't work with my parts.

FWIW, I used AN 12 to replace the hose from the engine to the tank on my '71. Had the OE hose wear through. No problems for decades with the AN stainless.
Perhaps the '68 is a different size.
