Rebuilding my turbo

Thanks in advance for any suggestions:

I need to rebuild the turbo in my 1988 930S, I live in the Los Angeles area and wondered if I could get any recomendations on facilities or mechanics. What kind of modifications to the turbo would you recommend to increase horsepower but also maintain reliability and a long life.

I have to send this thing out eventually, so any ideas? Anybody! I researched the internet and came across a ton of new replacement turbo's, but no turbo rebuilding companies.
