Check out this 15" tire option!

New to the USA!

and a pretty crazy sale right now for a couple of weeks!

I might pick up a set.

Achilles ATR-K Sport Track Tire

Thoughts?

Nice one Erik!

Curious thing they don't have 16"... would have gotten 4 and put them in storage until needed.

Too bad my 914-6GT clone isn't closer to done, those would be perfect for the 8&9x15 Fuchs I have for it. Wonder why no 255x17s?

Thanks for the link. Thinking of 245/45/15 for some 9" fuchs.

..Now the Chinese just have to remodel a wider tire for the 15x11 crowd.

Of course I just bought a set of tires last week.
I still may buy a set for the future as 15" tires are getting tougher to come by.

They do look cool.

Thank you for the tip Erik. I went ahead and ordered a set to try. Another 15" option to consider is the Maxxis RC-1 & VR-1, both 20% off until 7/4/17 and shipping is included in price. Unfortunately the 225/45-15 size is on backorder for at least a month I was told.

Is it just me or is Achilles a strange name for a tire?

Isn't that like when your wife says "Honey, the Donners have invited us to ride with them to the dinner party Friday night."

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

/\ now thats funny - I wondered if something was lost in the translation?

rdimarco let us know what you think after you get them on the road and some pics- at the sale price they are almost worth a blind jump.

Yeah probably not great in the rain but I have been driving around on slick RA1s for a year so they cant be any worse. If you daily drive in a climate that gets regular rain probably not a good option.

@Cnielsen in the story that I linked there are 3 retailers shown at the end. One of them had straight forward on line ordering (they also had the 215/50R15 on sale). the other two seemed to require a phone call or setting up an account.

got the tires installed and did a a/x today, first impression is that they would be similar to the RA1's.
it was a short course and I ended up about a second worst off then I would be vs usual competitor.

I usually run Hoosiers.
next week I will try them on track, and can compare them a little better vs Hoosiers. As I will be doing most session them, (hoosiers)
btw I got the 225/50/15 and 245/45/15
