Need opnion:Keep the 70T front spoiler original or not?

I really like the looks of a S front spoiler or maybe I don't like the stock 70T front equipment. Whatever, but how do most enthusients feel about upgrading an original car in this way. I would never chop it up, I just would like a bigger "chin" on the front of my car. It's near original as far as I can tell. I have alot of reciepts back to 1976 and never any major engine work either on the 97,000 mile car.
How do you guys truthfully feel about appearance mods and would this be a sin in Porsche heaven?

Do what you wish, but do it so that you have a possibility to remove the mods and go back to original looks if you want/sell the car.

My opinion: the S spoiler looks better than just about anything Porsche ever put on the front of a 911. This is a no-harm, no-foul mod. You have to take off the T spoiler in any case. If you want to go back to stock, later, you switch back. When (or if) it's time to sell, the T goes back on, and you sell the S spoiler seperately.

I'd have to agree with Jack on that one.
And if you are putting a ducktail or any other type of tail, you almost have to add an S or RS spoiler to the front for balance (visual and aero).

Having said that, If you're leaving the rear decklid alone, I say keep the front T bumper. It can look good too, especially stripped of the deco stuff. Just look a the 911R.

I would keep the S spoiler. Just a quick question for you...

Did you mount the spoiler? It looks like the back of the spoiler is sitting up higher than the front. I just got finished mounting my spoiler after refinishing it and I made the mistake of sitting the back of the spoiler on top of the mounts that reside next to the battery boxes. The spoiler should be mounted underneath the top of the mount next to the battery box. If you mount it this way, the back of the spoiler will be level with the bottoms of the front fenders.

Maybe it is just the camera angle though...

Here's my 72 with the S spoiler in fiberglass. Just bolted right on.

Looks like a 1969 MGB to me! Still running those twin SUs?

The S spoiler is the best; with a ducktail I am in heaven. So I must agree that doing this mod. for yourself and retaining the old parts is the way to go. Do remember it is there though on those steep inclines--the S spoiler can take a whack but it has its limits. Maybe some of those feelers you see on cars in Florida and Souther California?

Thanks guys for the opinions.
Jack, I have your car as my on my desktop. Hope that's a compliment because it's just beautiful.
Rustbucket, I really like the look of the 911R. I might try that first. Looks like the small bumper are have been removed. Is this my front end besides that? Thanks again.
