Vacuum Advance Question
Hi, I have a '72 2.4T with webers and it has no vacuum advance to the manifold or carbs. Do I need this since when I set the timing and blip the throttle, it advances. My research show so many different things, even plugging the advance and don't use it. So, maybe I have mechanical advance but I can't tell from looking under the rotor. I've had the car for years and it's always been attached to the bottom of the K&N air-filter frames (probably useless there). I just switched to a stock air cleaner and not sure what to do with the advance tube. Is there a right thing to do?
Thanks for any suggestions |

When you set the timing you disconnect the line and plug the hole anyway and you do not need to hook up a line to it either in driving mode. You will be in mechanical advance mode which is fine. Just cap the hole or leave it open.

Great! Not to often, I get the easy answer. Usually, It's "spend a lot of money and buy a lot of parts".
