911SC Fresh Air blower assembly rebuild
I bought a used fresh air blower assembly for a 78 911SC. The motor runs fine, no howling, but the foam seals on the two baffle plates that open or close when you
work the dash controls has deteriorated and should be replaced before I put this thing back together. Question: Anybody have a lead on what this material really is and where I can buy some, even to make the seals by hand. See the photos to get a better look at what I am looking to replace. ![]() [img] Last edited by syarrish; 07-08-2017 at 04:06 PM.. |

I used 2mm thick silicone rubber sheet in place of the foam.
I would replace the motor with new, not worth the hassle of removing and rebuilding again. Don't lose the position of the balance clips on the fan if you take them off.

I have also seen someone (Can't remember who) use arts and craft foam sheet from a craft store. dollar store might have it too. Usually for kids projects or what not. Something like this:

I think what you want is sheet neoprene about 4mm thick. You can find it on Amazon. But, I have seen a seller on ebay, I think his name is mattman, who sells the flappers with new foam already installed. I bought the exact part from him. Good luck.
