Help with diagnosis 79sc cold start smoke
Just started the sc tonight since 4 weeks ago. Started up but was blowing white - blue smoke. 1st time its done this, usually fires right up with a very clean exhaust.
Mileage is 47K. Only let it run a couple of minutes. Any comments appreciated. |

Does not seem to be out of the ordinary. In 4 weeks, some oil could have easily seeped into the cylinders and past the rings. Water vapor as well could be a factor. The fact that you did not run it for any length of time prevented this residue from burning off in short order. My guess would be that if you had driven the car, the smoke would have disappeared in a few minutes. If this happens consistently and the smoke doesn't disappear, you might have an issue, but a one-off incident is not enough to really make a diagnosis.

Thanks for replies. Exactly as described, just needed to run for a few minutes. I need to drive this car more!
