To be or not to be, BTR motor to BTR III Motronic
Considering cost and difficulty finding these components necessary, I have been brain storming how to make a standard 3.4 Ruf BTR motor into the BTR III which was twin injector and motronic. First off, before I go to Ruf with an inquiry for estimate, I am hoping to find the necessary components in used condition if it were possible.
If anyone has knowledge of Ruf BTR Motronic and can give some advice or insight I would be very glad! I'm no expert, but I think essential components are MP 1.2 ecu (Ruf chip of course), engine harness, fuel rails, 12 injectors, sensors, multiple fuel pumps, perhaps intake manifold too. What else needed I wouldn't know. The added HP would go from 374 to 408, yet for the extra 34 Horse, I'm wondering if it would actually be worth the cost even if I could find these parts used. That won't be easy I'm convinced. I'm not interested in other builds or more HP at all, just original BTR III Motronic spec and original Ruf parts. Therefore, I'm asking for advice and putting feelers out. bernie

Put this in the engine forum. It will get better input there.
