Now what
I misread the torque on the engine mounting bolt on my 78 sc. The passenger side stripped the threads in the mounting bar. I'm thinking I can get a grade 8 longer bolt and put a big washer and nut underneath it. Issues with doing that? Other suggestions?

That would suffice.

That's how it was done on the earlier cars and similar to how it is done in the water cooled 911s

I twisted the ends of my carrier off as the bolts were seized in there. I replaced with a rs version and that has nut welded underneath. I would think you have a nice solution. You can put a wrench on it to tighten and loosen without twisting the carrier end.

^ I'd install one of these or an equivalent. It will not twist.
