Trick for #6 plug wire? 78 911SC

So, decided to rebuild the ignition including the CDI, new cap/rotor, plugs and wires (Clewett). ISSUE: I can't seem to get the #6 plug wire on the plug? Is there a trick or angle I am missing? Plug socket goes on just fine, but can't seem to find the end and porcelain body with the plug?? Everything else like charm, save my arms/wrist - AC installed. Thinking about a bit of squeeze on the connection to possibly feel it click on a bit stronger. Just not feeling it as is.

Side note: Not sure how this car even ran, but 1,2,3 wires were on the right and 4,5,6 on the left? Kid you not. That said, plugs don't' look bad, just a little hot which is odd b/c when I timed it before sending the CDI to Ashlock, at idle it was set to TDC. I figured they would be blacked out and fouled. Will hand crank to TDC and double check the rotor/distributor to make sure it is on #1 on the cap not somehow 180 out. Always re-engineering previous owner, LOL.

You do have to mess with them . . it is at a slight angle . . try a plug out of the engine and make sure it is clicking in properly . .but yeah it always is a struggle . . except when its not!
