vacuum unit on dizzy replacement -> How? 911 3.0SC 1982

Hello,

I'm wondering how to replace the vacuum unit (on the dizzy) on a 1982 911 3.0 SC.
Do I need to remove the whole dizzy assembly first ? If so, is it just removing the 2 13mm nuts ? (any need for readjustment afterwards?)
next to this, I'm not sure which type is the correct part for the vacuum box:
93060293300 or 91160293200
Thanks in advance
Bas (from Belgium)

Pictures......

Bas,

It would help if you could identify your engine type. It is a Euro/ROW or a US spec. engine? Some additional pictures would be great. These are two distinct systems while they look alike, they perform quite differently. BTW, could you get a better and clearer picture of the mysterious wire in your other post? Thanks.

You are dealing with a lambda 82 so you're a US car.
The distributor pod you need is with 2 vacuum connections.
With the bottle cap, you really need that hose to vacuum the oil tank.

The 82 ROW does not use a O2 sensor but still has a distributor vacuum unit.

On getting the vacuum advance off of the distributor, it is best to remove the distributor after setting it to top dead center on cylinder 1.

The rebuild thread Distributor service (Clean and lube) real easy without removing the pinion gear! gives better explication on removal, rebuild and reinstallation.

Not sure about which part number is correct.
