2.2S Aluminum P.P. FOR 915 Gearbox?
Hi,fellow Pelican member Dick Shift from Hawaii said you can use a light weight 2.2 Pressure Plate on a 915 gearbox.I sent him an email & PM over the last 2 days but no response.Does this fly?I am in C.R. so I can not look at two and compare them. One is push and the other is pull.Ciao Fred

The pressure plates from '70 on will work with a 915. The clutch disk and TO bearings are different between the 2,2 pull clutch and the 915. The pressure plates are all pull clutches, the 915 just uses a different release fork and has a bigger input shaft spline.

Check out KEP clutches. They make light weight aluminum pressure plates. I just installed one on my car.

Yes, 2.2 225mm Pressure plate and Flywheel will work with a 915 as long as the clutch disc and TOB are swapped for the appropriate 915 units. The clutch disc splines are larger for a 915 to match the larger input shaft.

In line with the others' comments, I agree that they are interchangeable. I did the reverse in my case - I have an aluminum pressure plate from a 915 car on my 901/911 trans using the 70-71 style 225mm clutch. I have a 2.2S 225mm pressure plate like the one Dick is selling and tried it, but switched to the 915 unit cuz I was getting clutch slippage with my race motor. The 915 version has a little more clamping power.
