1983 911 3.0 starts but wont stay running

Ok guys sorry for starting a new post. this one will stay focused on the main issue at hand.

My 1983 911 3.0 sc will start but does not stay running. everything is back to the old parts with the exception of the new sleeves and injectors.
I have read the dklever post on fp relay and all tested out good.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/L80P6Jy1VziRuUg73 hopefully you can view this short vid as to how the car reacts.

Tablet is on work bench ready to start testing

Tony an LJ ready for your help.

Thanks Willie

What are the new injectors - and have they been cleaned - are they working?

WJL911 07-26-2017 09:44 AM

1983 911 3.0
new injectors
fresh gas
new fuel filter

test done
Fuel relay test done

WUR 10.3 ohms
System pessure 4.96 bar
Cold Pressure 2.6 bar
Warm pressure 3.5 bar in less than 5 min
Residual pressure 5 min 1.8
15 min 1.65
30 min 1.65
60 min 1.5

Jump wire the fuel pump under the relay. Jump terminal 30 and 87a
Key on and fuel pump will/should run.
Lift the airflow sensor, you will feel the fuel pressure pushing back on your fingers charging the cylinders. Just a few seconds, you don't want too much fuel in the cylinders.
That takes one possibility out of the problem.

Ivan I promise to keep on track with this thread and thanks for following.

I checked prior to changing everything and found 2 and fixed them. How would I check now with out the car running. I do not have a smoke machine.

Check the basics...you said you were working on you pedal cluster.,I have pointed the vacuum hose to the brake booster on picture ...
Also check on the engine left side is a pipe which is for the brake booster up front
like this one...

any easy way to check that?

Flat6pac 07-26-2017 03:15 PM

Well, with all the fuel checks, time to look at the spark. Do you have a 001 coil you can change in?
Does the CD box wine but with an 83 you hear the front of the injection too. The relay under the passanger seat when it goes bad, acts like a defective warm up regulator

Yes- 1) Pull the relay under the passing seat - next to the ECU. The engine will start to run real ruff. If there is no change - that relay or ECU or the wire connections could be faulty.
2) You should be able to hear or feel the FV running (vibrating) with key on. The FV is behind the peanut looking boot.

Keep us posted.

PS- number two is the easiest way under your conditions.

Another thing to check is to make sure the boot is seated on the throttle valve properly and has no holes or cracks in it. It will rev and stop just like in the video you posted.
