its not a Porsche engine as far as i can tell, looks like a V6, a Corvair perhaps?

It's Tatra air-cooled V8 engine.

Our dear Ferdy stole whole aircooled-rear-axle-engine concept from Hans Ludvinka (sp?) who started it before WWII for Tatra.
