993 v 911SC shell shape

I am looking at putting a roll cage into my 911SC - used for club level motorsport sprints.

A cage from a 993 turbo is available which suits my requirements

BUT

I am unsure if the interior cabin dimensions and mounting locations changed much with the 993 over the earlier 911 G series shells. Things like the shape of the rear parcel shelf below the rear window for instance.

Has anyone done a similar fitment of a cage from a 993 to an earlier 911?

Thanks

I was looking at a great deal on a 993 cage for my 75 911 chassis, but then I was told it wont fit, not without modifications. So how much time and effort are you willing to invest?

Keep shopping. Way too different.

When you weld the roll cage mount pads to the interior sills, just add some welded vertical tubing of proper diameter to slide the existing ends of the roll cage into. Put cage into car and jack up cage to proper height and weld in place. If a sunroof delete was done, getting the cage to the right height needs to be done.SmileWavy

This way cage welds don't need to be done through holes in the roof corners:D

Check with Customs cages and Safety devices as both have FIA spec cages. I'm currently in the market for one myself.
