so you need to move a 911 and the truck is too short...
I sold my SC targa chassis to a guy who showed up with a U-Haul truck instead of a trailer. The truck turned out to be about a foot too short. Here was his solution - lift the front end up and rest the integral crossmember on padding on the front shelf, then strap it all in:

Perfect timing. Those wooden slats on the side of a U-Haul are not really very strong. I hope he was careful or had the car really wedged and padded nicely to prevent movement.
I just transported, last week, my original 914-6 chassis and all of its parts across our great country in a 26' U-Haul. It sat on a pallet, the chassis was stripped of everything but we did have the doors and hoods in place for traveling. I then strapped/secured it to all 4 corners and placed several large heavy moving pads in front of the car and secured it snugly against the pads. Travelled well with no issues. Getting it in and out of the truck was a bit of a hassle, but we did it and now it is at the shop that will finish the build in Torrance, CA.
