86 Cab Interior Some leather some vinyl?
I am in the process of treating the interior-seats/dash/ door cards with the Leatherique process. What is leather and what is vinyl? To my eye the seating surfaces proper are leather but the sides and back of the seats look different in texture. Are they vinyl? What about the dash and door cards, leather or vinyl? The shift boot clearly looks like leather.

The majority of US cars during those years are like you describe.
Leather on the front seat seating surfaces proper (vinyl on the sides and backs of the seats). Leather covered steering wheel. Leather shift boot. Leather shift knob. (Unless it's the earlier year, obviously plastic knob). The rest is vinyl. Rear seats, door panels, etc. all vinyl. There were various leather options, though. All the way up to pretty much everything being covered in leather. Door panels, dash, all of the front seats, rear seats, etc. But not all that common. |

Thanks for your reply. I suspected that was the case.
