I Flocked My Glovebox
As I'm slowly putting my car together I came across my glovebox. Although it's in pretty good shape, at some point in it's past, a bottle of touchup paint spilled inside. The glovebox had a fuzzy, velour-like lining that was ruined by the paint. A little bit of search on the internet and I found a process called flocking. A special adhesive is painted onto a surface, then fine fibers are dusted onto the glue to make a new soft fuzzy lining. It is apparently commonly used in woodworking. So I scraped and sanded off old lining and spilled paint. I then painted on the adhesive and dusted on charcoal grey fibers, and voila! It may not be the OEM color, but I think it came out pretty good.

I did my dash with this process..My results were not as good. Yours looks great. I might redo mine although I am not sure how I would get the old Flock off?

ELOMBARD, to get the old stuff off, I think you'd have to sand the flock out of it (ha). To get the original stuff off I used a combination of a wire brush, a 3M scratch pad, and sand paper. I also hit it with some primer to seal the cardboard or whatever it's made of, but it also made the spots I missed really stand out so I could reattack with the scratch pad and sand paper.
