? about 10mm strut spacer on the raised US cars
I had my car (1980 911SC) lowered and counter balanced about a year ago to the standard 25"/ 25.5" standard. However, the large spacer on top of the front strut was never removed. If I remove it now, will I cause any issues with rideheight or the alignment?
Thanks guys. Noel |

As long as you do not touch the three bolts that hold the alignment settings, no. Just remove the one center bolt on top of the strut to remove the spacer.

I would personally have an issue w/ whoever did the work. Was he not familiar enough w/ 911s to know about this spacer? And I assume you meant "corner" balanced, maybe bring it back, have them remove spacers and re-check alignment, on the house of course.

Speeder, I do have an issue with the shop that perfomed the work and I no longer use them for the 911. At the end of the job, I had mentioned to them something about Bruce Anderson and they didn't know who that was. It is a mystery why they always have a 911 or two in there bay and not know this. It is however, a Foreign Car shop and not specific to Porsche or German cars. Lesson learned.
Thanks for the reply. Noel |
