Sunroof/Headliner Question
The headliner in my SC has come unglued where it wraps around the roof at the rear edge of the sunroof opening. Needless to say it looks a little tacky. But to reglue this flap I need to have access to that area of the roof.
All of the instructions about sunroof disassembly say to unsnap this panel at the front, which I have done, then to push it back into the roof to gain access to the sunroof bolts. Why not just remove it? Which is what I need to do to get finger access to the area needing gluing. Is there a reason you can't just pull it out all together? The matching section of headliner that covers that trim panel had to be installed someway, as did the main headliner itself, and I'm sure that wasn't done with the panel pushed back into the ceiling. I'm sure I'm not the first person to run into this issue.

The headliner fits in a channel in the cable guide on each side.
The roof is held on but a couple 4 and 5 mm bolts. That removes the roof panel. Philips screws hold the curve and side rails. Remove the curves and the inner panel will slide forward or just come out. Take a couple pictures so you can put the pieces that retain the sunroof back correctly Bruce |
