stuck clutch pedal 1980 911 SC targa

Good morning,
Out for a drive in 1980 all original SC targa yesterday and go to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear and the clutch pedal goes to the floor and never pops back up. Ugh! I tried pulling it up, goes back down? nothing. wtf, what happened? any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks as always.

I think these are photos of the cable below but I am not sure.

the swingarm from the clutch pedal is just inside the front most portion of the trans tunnel. You may need to remove the center console in order to gain access to the access hole. I just recently replaced my clutch cable and had similar symptoms as you, replacing the cable worked like a charm after adjustment.

I see three cables for sale. Genuine P product is just under $200, the repo OEM is $60. Anyone suggestions for the OEM product is preferred or which one they have bought and used?

Thanks
