Ding King?

Has anyone tried the DIY paintless dent removal system? For some $20-30 I'm thinking about giving it a shot. The most popular seems to be the Ding King. Yes/no, Good/bad...what do you guys think?

Hmmm, Be carefull. If you can't push a dent out from behind (if you had access) without deformity the Ding King will not work. The metal in the panel is very likely going to stretch as a result of the impact. Therefore, merely poping it out (or in this case pulling) will not render 100% satifactory results. If there is any kind of crease in the metal then you're toast as well.

I'd spend my money on a reputable and experience Paintless Dent Removal (PDA) technician.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree - the real wizards that do this professionally have a "Feel" for the metal and can do miraculous things. But beware, there are more hacks out there than pros. Best bet is to call the local luxury car/Porsche dealer and ask who they use for paintless dent removal.

the other issue is that you can't use the DKing on anything but factory paint, it has to do with the glue used for the tool.
I have had great results with dent romoval done by a pro.

I bought and tried the Ding King. Returned it the next day. The glue included in the kit will not stick to a waxed finish. I tried the kit on my 911 which is regulary waxed. No go. The glue wouldn't stick to it. Just popped off at the slightest turn of the screw. I then tried it on my wife's Civic which gets waxed but not as often. The glue held to the paint just fine but wouldn't stick to the tool itself! Poorly thought out product.

Not even worth consideration.

As mentioned earlier, my brother does PDR for a living. Short story? Don't waste your money on any of these do-it-yourself products! Metal is tricky stuff when it gets deformed...
