Lowering 81 sc (help)
I am new to the porsche world and enjoy doing everything I can to the car myself(even though it took me 21/2 years to rebuild and reinstall the engine) I am wanting to lower my 911 and need some help. Can someone lay out the steps for this process for both front and rear. I would like to keep the original T-bars if it is possible. I have checked all the shocks and none are damaged. One last thing I am planning on buying both 101 project and engine rebuilding books by Wayne, any reviews
Thanks everyone for your help |
I have both books, 101 and the prerelease rebuild. The 101 projects is terrific. A must have. I bought the rebuild book just to read and learn a little. Well written and probably worth the money even if you don't plan on a rebuild.
If I could get only one it would be the 101 projects. |
The rear can be tricky and may involve many iterations to get right. I did a write up on this, and Thom Fitzpatrick took this work and incorporated it into a nice easy software package. Do a search on lowering, rear lowering, suspension, etc..and I'm sure it'll pop up.

I wrote up a tech article for doing the rear. It's located at members.rennlist.com/bb79sc. Front is a piece of cake. Might as well take everything apart though, and install new bushings.
Have fun :) |
