82 911sc cis

I have an 82 911SC that had the CIS removed and put into boxes. The car is undergoing a restoration process, and am trying to restore it back to CIS configuration. I have started installing the CIS on the overhauled engine. Unfortunately, I was missing some 2 pin connectors, and other bits, but I recently bought the connectors, etc., and installed them. The connectors are placed in color code fashion described in this forum. The problem I have is that I don't know where the wires (pigtails)from the new :mad:2 pin plugs (air flow sensor, frequency valve, and warm up regulator) go to. The main wiring harness is not much help, as the previous owner opened it up to install an after market CDI module (I have repaired the original Bosch CDI module and am installing that also). The engine and transmission are out of the car, and would like to get this sorted out before installing. I would greatly appreciate help on this.

Post pictures...........

Bill,

Please post pictures of the CIS, electrical connections, etc. I would be more than happy you guide through the assembly. In case you need new set of engines harness/wire, contact Timmy2 (Dennis P.). Get hold of a 14-pin connector chart for SC. I have one at home and but won't be coming home in 3 weeks from today. Dennis might have one ready for you. Keep us posted.

Late SC engine wire harnesses.......

Bill,

Your late SC engine should have two (2) sets of engine wire harnesses:
a). The main engine harness with the 14-pin connector. This has the WUR, AAR, AFS, TTS, CSV plugs, alternator, and starter connectors.
b). Lambda 12-pin harness. This has the throttle switch plug, frequency plug, and for the enrichment temp. sensor.

Look at the picture Bob K. posted and yours should be the same.

Tony,
Thanks for the help, I have figured out where the wiring goes for the WUR, and AFS, valves go, but still struggling with the Frequency Valve. Also have a loose black wire coming from pin 12 of the multi-pin connector to the engine compartment fuse box that I haven't found out where that goes. I think the 14 pin connector chart may be able to solve both issues. Have an idea where I might be able to get one, or if possible could it be emailed to me (byrdsnest8550@att.net).
Again thankdks for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Bill,

Look very closely at the picture Bob K. posted. There are two (2) sets of engine wire harnesses for your engine:
a). The main engine wire harness that is connected to the 14-pin connector.
b). The second set of wires for the FV, enrichment switch at throttle body, and temp. sending unit have the 12-pin connector. This is plugged to the connector from the main ECU harness located near the driverside shock tower.

The wire harness with a yellow tape (in Bob K's pic) is the secondary set of wires. Take a picture of the wire you are having a problem and post it. PM Dennis P., I believe he has a 14-pin chart and I will look for mine saved some where.
