![]() Boat tailing is where you round some of the reinforcement within the engine so that air will move better within the case. It's supposedly good for about 10 HP according to Bruce A. Just what I've learned from BA's book

Knifing a crank means trimming the counterbalancing lobes so that they produce less drag as they pass through the pool of oil in the sump. Since your engine is a dry sump system, this is not particularly important.
