Torkspec website

I just found this site and I wonder how accurate it is. Is anybody familiar with it? What's nice about it is that is shows not only the torque values, but the bolt sizes including the ratings which the part catalogue does not. ... again I wonder how accurate. So far the only way I have been able to tell the strength of the bolts is to read the numbers on the originals, but it would be great if this site shows it correctly.

Do you have a workshop manual with the torque specs listed to compare to the site? If not, I would suggest grabbing one for your 911 - depending on the model, a Bentley manual may be available.

Well, checking the specs for a 3.0 L engine, it states that the torque for the connecting rod bolts should be 15 N-m.

My Porsche Little Spec book says 50-55 N-m. That's a pretty major bust.

If you are rebuilding your engine and torque your rod bolts to only 15Nm, then you have no business rebuilding your engine.

Yes I do have the Bentley as well as Wayne's books, but never compared them... thought I'd ask first. I guess it's no good...

Thx guys

It says 15nm plus 90 degrees if you look at the note.

Check several sources. Bentley has errors too.

You're right John, I missed that. Good point. Still different than Porsche's specs, maybe OK?

The point is that you can't trust an unknown source for something this important. If you have to double-check every value, then what good is it?

I'm sure there are typos in the printed manuals as well, but hopefully by now they are known and not hard to find.
