Post Polishing

While I'm waiting for my UPS delivery (2-3days!!!) to arrive with new lug nuts, bonnet struts and steering wheel adaptor (all from Pelican of course) for my new Momo wheel, I'm looking for other things to do to make the 911 look its best.

Can you guys please tell me -
1. Does applying more than one coat of wax bring a deeper final finish? If so how many do you do?
2. Years ago I remember reading in Street Machine magazine that to polish glass (windscreens) you can use toothpaste on a cloth. Ever heard of this?

...I've already read the similar topics in the archives thanks...

Regards
Mark

Polish, glaze and sealer are the applicants that determine the depth and gloss of the shine. The wax is a protectant.
See (carcareonline) for specific tips on a great shine

or...McGuires #7 followed by Blitz Wax.

Wax has a maximum thickness before it simply sloughs off. That thickness is in the smaller-than-thousandths range.

Guaranteeing that you have the maximum coverage can be accomplished with 2 coats of wax, but I'd bet that first coat did it anyway.

Thanks for that guys.

'Polish, glaze and sealer...'

Can you give me an example of a glaze product? I assume the sealer is a wax product right?

Thanks for the link, I'll check this out.

Yeah, I'm sure its ordinary toothpast without any new fangled additives like stripes/sparkles etc. I remember this tip from about 20 years ago when (I don't think) we had such products. Well I'm gona give it a go to see if I can get rid of some of those pesky swirls I can see in the sunlight.

Once again, THANKYOU

Mark

Hey Juan - are you available to stop my house tomorrow around 8am? I was thinking of washing the car but I can't be here. The car will be in the driveway. Help yourself to the beer in the fridge. I'll see ya around 4pm. Thanks
