Mocha brown is such an awesome color. I'm envious. If I could find something like that locally I'd be all over it. Congrats.

Thanks epinfren, the PORSCHE gods finally smiled upon me.

I got a great deal being honest and helping out a guy (new friend) out in idaho find the car of his dreams near me. ( great story )

WUR is acting up and prolly will be replaced with Webers as PMO are overpriced imo.

90% leakdown, shifts great being a 1 owner, wasn't f'ed up by a bunch of different bad drivers.

I have a feeling I won't be able to save the original paint bc it has a few bad chips. One you can see is a bad stone chip from inside out on drivers rear quarter. Im sure there's more as she's almost 40.

I really like the early Super Carrera with manual door glass and she's solid being a CA car her whole life til recent.

I'm thinking Carrera 3,0 tribute right now but maybe a straight restoration except for the CIS. I think it needs to be light though to be at full potential. Dunno yet..that will come. Opinions are welcome.

Should have her home in less than a week.

My Stinger 912R was originally Sepia Brown,,,maybe I should not have changed that.

It's a few thousand miles away still,
Not a problem lol
Seller took detail pics for me.

I just noticed how early the Vin is, 205th SC built.

Man...I liked your last project so much. But this one looks to be rather unmolested. The purist in me says "restore it", but an early short hood hot rod cool be VERY appealing.

I agree, whatever I do it could be reversed easily and all original heavy stuff saved on racks and labeled.

I'm trying to find a good shipper..open is much cheaper and paint is far from perfect so thinking open trailer is fine unless someone disagrees..

Congratulations on finding an unmolested 911! I sure hope for your sake that red fan doesn't mean it was rebuilt by Motorsheister....

My opinion on shipping. Get a car cover, preferably one that says Saturn or some other type of crappy car. Someone stole my near perfect chrome spare wheel when my car was shipped.

Yes, decades ago on it's tour, it's whereabouts still unknown..

I'm looking for a nice wheel, like Prototipo a lot but a little small, any suggestions?

Yep, hard to tell from the pics the true condition on the paint. I think I'd be tempted to just do a engine / trans (if needed) rebuild. Punch out the motor with carbs and internal goodies. Clean up the paint / int. as best you can and do whatever you need to the suspension and then DRIVE it! Some of the coolest little hot rods (imho) are the ones with the most 'patina' on the exterior. You can always repaint later. I wish I'd done that with my '86 h/r targa, but ALL the way down the slippery slope I went. I now have 3 times in it than its worth and think the first stone chip I get is gonna make me cringe.

I kinda always liked the 3 spoke SC wheel. Iconic, I'm weird tho
I like the Carrera wheel too it's elegant.

Maybe I'll leave it.

Yes! There was a guy here that was selling a bunch of early Victor Special Racing steering wheels a while ago. They were 380mm. He even had one in brown I believe

I bought a black one and put it on our 930. Very cool and fairly rare. I'll bet you can find it if you do a search in classifieds.

Exactly what size are you thinking? You prolly already know that smaller wheels make the gauges hard to read. There's a bunch of original 320mm wheels floating around for cheap. Then there's the modern Prototipo that is 350, though I still think it's a bit small. Then there's 370, 380 repops that are sized ideally in my opinion. TopDog racing has a nice one. Checkout Moto-Lita's site for something totally different. Lots of options out there. I wish someone made a repop of a 370 Momo Elite but I haven't found any.
