While I have the intake out, what else?
 

My 85 Targa has a leaking fuel line, so replacing all. Just going to pull the intake rather than drop the motor, so what else to do while it's off.

I've got triangle of death items in hand and ordering new insulation to replace the dry cracked, 1/3 missing original one, as well as new intake gaskets and flanges.

I've done quite a few of the vacuum lines already, but will check/replace all hoses (of all types) I find suspect while I'm in there.

Planning on removing the injectors and taking them over to a local shop for testing. I have new o-rings in hand for reinstall.

Planning on giving my ICV a clean while it's off even though it's had one recently, and pulling the lid off the afm box for inspection, too.

What else?

When you reinstall the right side, take care of the flywheel sensor lines that you don't crush them.
I would send the injectors out to Mr Injector for a cleaning and report.

It's a bit more work, but maybe remove the fan shroud and make sure the top of the cylinder cooling fins and top of the on-engine oil cooler are clean. Check alternator wiring connections and wiring condition too (make sure nothing is chafing and working on a dead short...).

I would do a valve adjustment and a leakdown test. Maybe change spark plugs. All of those items are easier with the engine out

If still original, I would recommend replacing the supply and return hoses under the car, by the trans. They live right under the left side heat exchanger hot air dump.
Mine looked like someone had hit it With a blow torch and was leaking.

Do ,t forget the fuel hoses up by the tank, the environment Ian,t as harsh but they don,t last forever.

The best clamps I have seen are the Germn "fuel injection" clamps with the. Machine screw and nut, not slotted.
