Porsche dealership from the '70's in Oxnard, CA

Hi folks. I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with some info.

I own a '74 911 that was originally delivered in Oxnard, CA in December of 1973. The name of the dealer, supposedly, was called 'Mark Porsche-Audi'. I say supposedly, because I can't find any mention of this dealer on Google searches.

Has anyone here ever heard of this dealer and what became of it? Perhaps know where a dealer plate frame might be found?

Thanks!

Here are some photos of the Authorized Porsche/Audi dealers in 1977. Don't See Mark Porsche

Perhaps this one? Certainly not Oxnard, but maybe they meant Ottawa? .

Mark Motors

Thanks. So this tells me that they were already gone by '77. Maybe someone else will turn something up.

I have seen this one, but there isn't anything to tell me if they just moved from California. I could be wrong, but they look like they have been a Canadian dealer from the beginning.

No, the original owner was from Oxnard. The Porsche data base showed that the delivery was in California at a dealer in Oxnard called 'Mark Porsche-Audi'.

Could be an international Rusnak kind of thing. Mark Motors is an unusual name for a dealership, what are the chances of a second unrelated/unaffiliated Mark Motors Dealership? And if there were two completely unrelated dealerships, what would be the probability they BOTH SOLD Porsches?

Either
1) Your car is a Canadian import (the VIN would sort that one out) or
2) Mark Motors in Oxnard went out of business between 1974 and 1976, but is related to the Mark Motors in Canada.

I am not sure if the VIN would sort that out. The 1974 cars were all ROW cars and did not differentiate between the US imports and the rest. I could be wrong though.

Rusnak, if I remember correctly, did not come into being until 1981 in Westlake, which I think you're scans of dealers shows no record of them as of yet.

I just noticed that your scan does show "Masterson Porsche Audi" in Ventura, which is just a couple of miles up the road from Oxnard. So, one of two things are possible in this scenario. 1, Mark was bought out and moved to Ventura between 1974 and 1977. Or, 2, the dealer was indeed Masterson all along.

Look up Masterson Porsche Ventura. Bought a 911 Turbo there in '86. Grew up in Oxnard and never heard of a Mark or a Porsche dealer in Oxnard, as previous I am sure 5 miles away is correct Masterson. But that did close years ago.

In the Phoenix area there are a few import car dealerships under the "Mark" name such as Mark Kia and Mark Mitsubishi.
