engine compartment seal installation
would anyone know if i have to use adhesive on the engine seal #12 in this diagram. Dry fitting the seal does not appear to be correct.

No. You don't have to use adhesive. The newer type seals (T shaped part that seats into the channel with a V notch in it) are very easy to install. I had an old style seal (without the V notch) I fought with to try to slide into the channel & realized I'd never be successful. Bought the new type seal from out host & had it installed in less than 20 minutes. It's still in there. Same thing for the seal strip behind the engine.

One tip for instillation. If you look at the ends of the metal channel that the seal goes into, you will see they have been bent closed to hold the old seal. Use a tool to unbend so the new seal goes in easier. Rob

as 30we...said check the lips and also use liquid soap to install...
