throttle plate opening under WOT question

I have the 80 911 throttle boot off and was just checking everything before trying to restart the car after 16 years....curious question

Does the throttle plate only open about an 1" about 45 degrees when floored? I figured the butterfly would open alot more, like almost from flat closed _ to l position....make sense?? Like a butterfly on a carb??

the butter fly should be vertical at WOT.
16 yrs is a long time. if you are still in there make sure the plunger in the fuel dist is not stuck.

A good while you're in there is a pedal cluster rebuild, throttle bushings in tunnel, bell crank throttle bushings (bronze) and new springs on the linkage.

Pop off the linkage at the throttle body and make sure it opens fully, then work your way down the line to see what is out of adjustment.

Fixed

Someone removed what looks like the cruise control bracket off the throttle plate linkage and put the screws back in.... and it was stopping the linkage from moving to fully open.

That will do it, glad you found the problem. How does it drive now?
