Identify This Part?

I’ve been trying to find this part in the parts book with no luck. It is from my ‘82 SC coupe. Obviously part of the heating or (engine) cooling system, but I’ve ha no lick findingbits location or P/N. It was stored with the components of the engine mounted heater blower which I am not going to reinstall in my car.

No way this part is from an 82 SC!!! The hoses coming out of the blower look nothing like this.
Sorry

Hmmm. Interesting reply since ALL of the parts in the storage bin were personally removed by me! Problem is that was four plus years ago. So yes, it is from an SC.

Sorry but no it is not.
Go to the for sale section and search SC's and look for engine pics. You will NOT see this part anywhere.
Good luckmg

It is the duct that mounts just behind the smugglers box lid and connects to the AC condensor in the smugglers box.

You can see it in the middle of the photo below that I stole from another post

I should further clarify.....it is most certainly NOT a stock or OEM part for the SC. Perhaps someone fabed something......

Mgatepi,

We all mistakes no exception. And to admit it in public takes courage and discipline. Others won't admit the mistake and would try to evade the subject by pointing the blunder to something else. You are the real man in my book.

Thanks for the input. I don’t remember pulling anything out of the front at all but maybe I did. So at least now I know what it is. Guess I won’t get rid of it just yet.

Thanks everyone.

The mystery part - no longer a mystery, per se - is now even more mysterious.

Once I found out what it was and where it lived I looked at my car. Yep, there it is - well, a duplicate of it anyway - installed in it’s proper place in my car. So I have two.

Since this isn’t exactly a consumable or anything you could conceivably need a spare for, I wonder why I have it and where it came from?

Here it is installed in my car:
