Help with putting the door back together

Ok, it's been so long I can't remember how to put the door back together.

The one question I have is how is the metal bracket that supports the fold out door pocket attached? It's black and about 4" square with an "arm" on it to hold the pocket open.

One hole is for the front pocket rear stud and one hole is for the forward door pull bolt.

I thought there was something else holding it on?

Also I think it goes on before the door card?

Any help, pictures or descriptions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dean

What year car?

That square thing sounds a lot like the hinge on the door pocket cover which folds up (not out) on my car. That part goes into the rear of the door, with two drilled holes in the door metal, and is held by matching screws through a bracket (black plastic.) The pin side goes into the back of the door mechanism. All this goes on after the door card, through matching holes in the door card, and helps sandwich/hold the door card in the rear of the door.

Woah, I have no idea what that is. I don't have it in my SC - sorry must be an early car part.

Yes, that is the bracket that holds the front of the flip down door pocket on early cars, 1969-1973. The spring arm applies pressure on the pin at the front of the pocket to hold it open. The hole to the left of the arm is where the stud from the front small door pocket goes. The hole in the upper right of the bracket is where the bolt to secure the bracket to the door frame goes.

The part is attached near the front of the large hole in the door frame, upper corner beneath/behind the door card and arm rest. It is secured by a bolt.

Note the location in the photo below--behind the door card and the arm rest.

Here is a thread link that may help. Door pockets on early 911

Here's a video that may help as well. At 7:29 there is a shot of the bracket installed, and near the end is an explanation of how it's mounted.

Thanks.
That was great.
So I must have misplaced the bolt and washer that holds it on.
I can't seem to find it with the others.
