'85 Parts

I have an '85 Carrera and am looking for a part that I seem to be missing on my rear condesing coil: In the parts catalog, page 813-55, no. 3, moltoprene shim, 6 X 65 X 85, # 901 573 138 00.

They list a different part for an M 42. Does anyone know what the M42 designation means?(Turbo?)

I think this is a typo. M codes are typically three digits so I think in typing out the code the last digit was cut off in the text box. Since your working on the condenser the M425 Rear Window Wiper code comes to mind.

For the 87-89 just one number is listed 911-573-141-00. I ordered one awhile back for my 87 Carrera Coupe because mine had disintegrated. It is just a low density foam pad and while trying to remove it from the package it tore. So I ended up using Frost King high density rubber foam weather stripping as a replacement.

The only difference seems to be the thickness of the two parts.

Harold: Thanks. So, the thickness is 6 mm for my part. Last night I installed the condenser and cut some rubber sheeting for a temporary pad. There was nothing there when I took the condenser out.

I can easily make and install what you describe.

Thanks for the reply.
