Brake Booster...please help 84 911 Carreras Targa 3.2

I believe my brake booster is shot, it will not hold static vacuum and drops to zero the minute I press my pedal. I can feel no vacuum assist in the pedal. booster check valve checks okay. Engine vacuum not great up front, but sufficient.

So here is my dilemma: I have scoured the web and I can not seem to find a brake booster for sale for a 1984 911 Carrera Targa 3.2. I saw one used on on eBay and other used are available at DCAuto, but no new. What's up with that? This is the first time I've had a problem buying a part, especially a common one like a booster for any of my old Porsches. Is there a BMW part or some other booster that can be cross refenced to fit?

I had a master cylinder leak that allowed brake fluid into the booster causing the booster to fail. Like you, I search high and low for a new or reman. No luck. Ended up finding a good used one local. I guess demand just isn’t there to justify companies to reman them anymore.

Have you checked for leaks in the vacuum line from the engine to the brake booster? The hose in the engine area is subject to heat and can dry out and crack. Try removing it from the brake booster, plugging it and see if your running engine vacuum increases. To be really sure, also remove the hose on the engine side and vacuum test with a Mityvac or similar (still plugged on the other end). My bet is a hose leak but no money on it.

Thanks for suggestions. I hooked up mighty vac and pump to booster and no change in pedal. I'm convinced booster is bad. My master does not appear to leak and pedal is solid, not mushy. I'll replace the master cyclinder as a WYIT task if I can find a booster since I intend to keep the car. She's my oldest, I've had her almost 20 years!

Points to ponder:
Were you able to achieve a vacuum on the booster with the mityvac? If so, the diaphragm is still good or maybe:
the vacuum checkvalve on the booster is not allowing vacuum into the booster.
