Cab back to Targa! Project "BugBug" goes back to where he once belonged

Just like the title says, I'm turning a targa back to a targa. PO Cab'd it with what looks to be factory pieces. The only parts that I'm guessing that can be repurposed would be the front latches?

Also: I have the substructure, and inner and outer targa trim and the glass. Our host has a whack of seals that I will need. Anyone able to shortlist them for me?

Oh and ive searched like mad for a thread or pics of someone re-targa-ing a former targa from cab.. A few from Targa to cab but not many the other way around. If someone knows of one, thatd be great!

Thanks Fellas!!

Before you get in too deep you will need the rear glass seal which is no longer available new

DC automotive shows used at a couple of hundred bucks

You should contact Dan at carsinctarga tops, he can tell you exactly what you will need. The new seal for the windshield frame to top is too large for early cars (I think its ok for 964) Dan manufactures the correct seal

Good luck on a noble adventure

Pics!!!!

Home! And cleaned up a bit.

Couldn't resist! Haaha!! I cant wait. This stupid rag needs to go..

Is this goodie reusable?

All the goodies, not including the glass I have. Pretty Stoked!

The fella that did the cab conversion didn't bugger anything up as far as I can tell.
Valve adjust tomorrow, and the search goes on for a top for alignment then bye bye Rag That Does Not Belong.

Pehlen, no idea.. It was in 3 pieces when I bought the car.. A tube of panel bond and some expanded metal later its ok.. Gt has a really similar one if not the same one.
3 pieces-because too low! Heads up

Just a thought but you could convert to a soft window??? Speedo over on earlyS (I think Lars here?) converted a hard back window to a softie (on a long hood) and it came out fantastic, oh and it's for sale CHEAP. I've never seen one done on a short hood let alone wide body short hood. Could be um.....unusual. It's your slate, have fun.

+1. Had the same thought when first started reading. It would make the car unique and maybe more desirable.

Only downside is that they are notorious leakers, but the glass window targas are tough enough to keep the water out. (I owned one)

Soft window huh? It crossed my mind. I have the glass already though...
What would I need to make it happen? I'm guessing that the back window is hens teeth

Actually there's a gent over on earlyS that offers the entire kit but I have no idea of costs. It won't be cheap for sure but could be way cool.
