82 sc Backdating heat in California

Is this common backdating the heating, by removing heat blower and ducts in the engine compartment.. I can honestly say in 5 years of owning this car, i have never used the heater, i live in California, doesn't get cold to often. Does removing it devalue a mostly original car. I must say the engine does look a lot cleaner without it .

Thanks!

It won't effect the value much, as it is reversible with some hassle. You can still get plenty of heat without the blower, but for good defrost you might need something (such as footwell blowers).

How much velocity does the original heater fan produce...My original fan works after taking some voltage readings... i disconnected one of the duct hoses at the fan discharge in motor compartment and i feel air blowing, but not much.. Not enough to feel it in the cabin of the car..

If the rear blower is going and the flaps are all the way open (handbrake levers), you should easily feel it blowing by your hand...911s have wild ducting, so make sure it's being distributed as you would expect. Even with just the engine fan, you should be able to feel moving air coming out of the vents. It's a bit silly, really:

I dunno. Usually what happens is one of the levers to the air distribution breaks, and it just gets...left that way. If I were you I would first verify that air is being distributed as expected based on the illustration above. If not, check that your physical connections are sound (which involves pulling the frunk carpet and probably that cover thing).

The fresh air blower is distinct from the heater blower. It's a system that was cobbled together over the decades...
