Would any of you use Zaino on new paint?
I've read good things about the product, seems easy to use. When I get my freshly painted car from the shop, whats the best product to start with to protect the finish?

I am not expert in the field of car repair nor bodywork. But I have logged a few hundred hours polishing and waxing by hand. I think nothing meets a good old hand polish and a coat of wax. I use zymol now it is very user friendly, beautiful job. Just a little pricey. I also want to mention you need to speak with your painter about how long you will need to wait before waxing your car, I think it a month. I realize you asked about Zaino, I considered it but this is what I am staying with. If it works dont fix it.

By the way--for those of you that aren't shopping Costco--they're selling a two bottle package of
Zymol Cleaner/Polish for under $15. You may want to bug your neighbor to pick some up for you if you like the product. ![]()

Moses,
Send your question via e-mail to Zaino directly. They are very helpful. It's a great product, and blows away any conventional wax/polish for shine and durability.

I really would not wax a new paint job... you should wait at least 4 weeks to let your paint cure.
Zymol at discount stores is made by Turttle Wax ! read the label and it will say made in Chicago ! I also have to say the Zaino does not blow away any other wax or polish, maybe from what you have seen.... BUT have you actually seen every wax ? I don't think so. I haven't, and I detail Porsches for a living, I am not a Zaino fan, maybe for American cars but not for Porsches. At the last Concours here in Austin, the Zaino cars did not even place, I got best of show with One Grand Blitz Wax ! |

If Zymol licenses it's name wouldn't it also license it's formulations? I haven't tried Costco's Zymol but it would seem that the Company
wouldn't want a some cheapo product sullying their reputation. Not so? ![]()

I agree with chuckr, it is not reccommended that you wax the car until the paint is fully cured. I would wait longer than four weeks if you are in dreary climate, it is importants for all the chemicals to "bake out" of the paint. When you do wax for the first time, try to avoid products with silicone in them.

I just repainted and converted my 78SC to a wide body. I waited 2 months (paranoid I guess) and started using Zaino product. I am very satisfied. Easy to use, and a very deep/wet finish. I'd recommend it. Make sure you pay attention to the difference between Z2 and Z3.
