Fiberglass Bumper blade: Who makes them now?
Hey Pelicans,
I was looking at the smoothed out impact bumper thread as I have done many times in the past and thought about trying to find the infamous front fiberglass bumper blade. I like my current no fog valance and rubber lip, just don't like the accordions and rubber impact strip up front. Now before someone says try Getty or one of the other vendors, I did. It's listed but blacked out. And no, as much as I like the SCRS front bumper, I don't feel my SC has the hips to pull it off in stock trim. I also don't care for the IROC bumper. I have no use for an oil cooler up front and center, Carrera cooler works great. So aside from learning how to make a mold and create my own part, or filling in and destroying the original bumper, what do you guys and gals have to throw out at me? -Steve How the car currently looks (ish...it's now much lower): ![]()

Thanks Cory,
This does replace the bumper but not the bellows or side pieces like the Getty unit used to. That was more of what I was looking for. Thanks though and if need be I could alway buy it and modify as a last resort. -Steve

I've looked into this many times. I think this is the best solution because no matter how hard you try, if you drive enough miles, at some point, you'll smack the low sitting front lip off of something. And I'd rather smack a steel valance with rubber lip off of something than a fiberglass part.
You could buy a used IROC bumper and cut the lower portion off. You'd have to replace the lower bumper "lip" to make it a blade again, but it's probably your cheapest option. |
