Sticky Clutch Pedal

Did some searching and I'm coming away with more questions than answers, so how about a video?

https://youtu.be/IDGz4CHnvGM

Car is an '83 SC. Recently rebuilt the pedal cluster with bronze bushings, replaced the pedal return spring and the omega spring at the tranny. Shifting was super improved, but then the pedal started sticking the other day. It's sticking just above the engagement point, so the car is drivable as is, but it's still a little unsettling.

I'm thinking I didn't grease the bushings enough; but before I tear it all apart, wanted to see if the collective had any better ideas.

Make sure that you have the proper measurements (1.2mm gap at adjustable threaded bolt and short clutch arm at bottom of gearbox with cable disconnected and 25mm of total travel of long clutch arm where clutch cable attached). Once those measurements are verified and the clutch pedal still sticks then try slightly tighter gap than 1.2mm until clutch pedal no longer sticks.

My car coincidentally came back from the shop once with an annoying slight 'click' in the clutch pedal on the return. A few drops of motor oil applied with a Q-tip to the bronze bushings / pedal cluster points cleared it up. No disassembly - I just let it seep in for awhile at the pivot points and worked the pedal a few times.

Your issue sounds more severe but this fix was quick, effective and free if out of ideas.

This was on my list to adjust anyways, so I'll do it now rather than later, thanks.

I'll give it a shot. I used just a light bit of grease before, but it probably won't hurt to throw some more lube in there. Thanks.
