Help with fuel smell in cabin.

I think I've tracked my leak to this small hose between the fuel tank proper and the expansion tank. I would like to replace it, but I'm not sure what to order from our hosts. Is it just bought in bulk?

A picture of the part in question and the car which just got an engine rebuild here in San Diego after being disassembled in my garage for five years. Oddly, sitting idle for that long didn't fix my fuel leak... The car has been in my family since '84 when my stepfather bought it used. I bought it from him in 2010. It's good to have it back on the road.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Am not sure what year it is (84 or earlier), but you could check the PET katalog (link below).

https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

I looked up for an early 3.2 and found 999-181-189-50, but PP shows it’s been superseded by 999-181-189-5A-OEM and ridiculou$ly high.

Pelican sells a substitute fuel line by the meter. I think the diameter is 14mm. The PET shows the lengths in mm by the way.

Here is a link that might be helpful.

I bought new line from our host (bulk, sold by the meter) and replaced all the evap lines in my SC. I can't say which one was leaking but the fuel smell combined with the headaches when driving were eliminated after replacement.

Just replace them all; hose is cheap. Just remove the original, measure, cut and replace. I got fancy and put new clamps on as well but the originals were fine too.

For the short term I was able to fix it by pushing the hose further up the nipple and moving the hose clamp down over the barb. Replacing the hoses is probably a good idea. I'm sure I didn't buy myself too much time.

For reference, the gas tank fitting that was weeping measured ~14.6mm.

Thanks.
