Rust under windshield

Well, I got the car about two months ago and did the standard change-all-fluids, clean entire interior, touch-up paint, turbo tie-rods, hi-tourque starter, and look forward to new ball-joints, shock, carpet, seats, etc. when I get the money... but that familiar little gremlin popped up again.

The paint is pretty good and I want to do the headliner, dash windshield seals all at once(later).

Would spraying rust-stop(via plastic tube or needle) under the seal buy me a years time? I can't think of any other quick-fix.Thanks

How bad is the rust?
If it's just a little surface rust. It's unlikely to get serious quickly and any of the proprietary rust treatments will slow it down, if it's necessary to use one at all if you're going to do it properly soon. If it's bad don't worry and just enjoy the car as no quick fix is going to make a difference. In this location you can do a goodlooking, cosmetic repair yourself but for a proper job, unless you've done a lot of serious bodywork yourself, I think it's best to have it done professionally. Check the quality of the work your bodyshop does, as it's very quick and easy to push out a pretty paintjob that masks the problem. From past experience with a 68, I'd suggest checking out the rear screen, and under the rear seat cushions as well as the floor. On the 68 I used to have, the strongest part of the bodywork was the bright new paintjob!

Thanks for the advice. I've found minor rust on the rocker panels but no where else.
I believe the PO had it in storage for many years, but amazingly enough when I changed a light bulb there was plenty of dirt but no rust behind it.
There's one primitive reason to move west. The formula for the midwest seemed to be 10 years/half a door.
