power windows troubleshooting
Was out for a rip in the 76 911 the other day and both my drivers and passenger power windows lost power and stopped working, and of course it stopped working with the drivers window down and we are having crappy weather this week!
Want to get out and trouble shoot it today or tomorrow; I am assuming the 2 likely culprits would be a fuse or the drivers switch? The drivers switch is new and I made sure all of the wiring was good when I pulled the door panels off and rebuilt them last winter. Is there a fuse just for the power windows? I had a quick look with a flashlight and didn't notice a bad fuse but that was a real quick glance as I was in a rush. Any tips on trouble shooting would be great so I can get the drivers window back up!! |
Windows.

If that does not resolve the issue pull the driver's side passenger window switch, and check those connections. The 12V goes to that switch, then to the other switches. Good luck, Gerry |
Thanks Gerry, that's what I was figuring.
Is fuse #1 closest to the firewall? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

^^^^^ The fuses should be identified inside the fuse panel cover. pm me as needed. Gerry |
