Now what - locked out...

I did some searching and not found anything useful. Car is a 1985 Carrera with the auto central locking system and an aftermarket alarm/remote system. I put the key in the ignition and turned it two clicks so the steering wheel would not be locked. Closed the door and the car locked itself! Any ideas how to get in to the darn thing. The radio is on and will for sure drain the battery in a while...
Anyone have any creative ideas?
Thanks,
Bill

Do you have a double sided key that fits in the lock? VW or other? Sometimes you can jiggle a key in the lock and get it to unlock.

Thanks for the quick response everyone! Called AAA and the guy who showed up was able to slim jim it open. Luckily I have a '69 with the door panels removed sitting in the garage for him to look at. He said he's never had a car he could not get into, but this one would have beaten him had he not been able to see exactly where to insert the tool and how to bend it to get to the horizontal rod which he was able to slide backwards and open the door.

I will be ordering a spare key first thing tomorrow morning.

I had a similar experience with an 84 Mercedes W123 and pneumatic locking.
locked myself out (600km away from home and the spare keys) after starting the engine to help defrost in winter while I shoveled the heaps of snow off.
pneumatic hadn't fully released the locking and when the door closed, it locked on stage one.
damn.

A guy from AAA (ADAC in Germany) had a large key ring with about 30 regular car keys on it.

at the end, we opened the car with a beat up worn type 1 VW bus keys, maybe from 1968.

the lady down the street got locked in a corvette for about 2 hours one day.
I guess she got in, the battery was low and the doors locked.

Had a 928 self lock right in the middle of the driveway into my shop. Key inside. 4 tumbler locks and impenetratable. Messed me up for half the day before a locksmith managed to open it.
