Question Sticky steering?

I don't know of any other way to describe yet. Had a nice drive in the Oregon wine country yesterday in the '80 SC with some really nice, sweeping curves. I noticed something I had noticed before but the long drive with multiple curves helped me confirm the feeling. Sometimes as I come out of a curve I feel that I encounter a bit of resistance as I start to turn the wheel back to center, then when it does turn there seems to be a bit of free play before kind of settling in.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Is it just that I'm not used to a rear-engine car yet?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
