71-73 Small Chrome Flag Mirrors
Hello All,
I would appreciate any input from those who have installed these mirrors or use them on their period correct cars. Good sight lines, easy to adjust? I am considering them as an option for my SC. Thanks for your comments. |
A couple of things to point out.
The mirrors come in two different sizes, with the larger rectangular ones being 73-75. They are right/left side designated with the OG right side ones being rare as hen's teeth, but repros are available. For your purposes, however, the biggest consideration will be attachment to the doors. The base of the older mirrors will not cover the holes for the flag mirrors on your SC. Some have used a larger rubber base to cover the holes, however. If you are going with a passenger side mirror as well, it will be important to locate it correctly on the passenger door--it is not in the same location as the driver's side mirror. |
'71s had the Durant mirror, FWIW. A round mirror on the driver's side only.
Not sure when the right side mirror became standard. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506385826.jpg |
I have 2 small ones on my 72. Make sure you buy genuine as the quality of the aftermarket ones, that I have seen, isn't good.

Also the BMW 2002 (74?) is supposed to be a good fit.
I have OEM R & L - wish they were larger, but still effective with proper mounting. |
