1976 Targa wipers problem (and few other questions)

Hi,
I don't know if this is typical for these cars (new to the brand) but when i turn the ignition key the wipers go on and off once.

I like the H4 headlights (with bigger glass and smaller rim) but when i look at my headlights it says H4.
What is the best place to buy the "H4" headlights, glass and rim?

My heat exchanges are gone, what is the best place to buy them?
I have also seen headers, straight to the exhaust, what are the pros and cons of this setup.

I do want more sound of the engine.
I've had 1971 Mercedes 250C, 1974 Mercedes 230, 1972 BMW 2002 and all had louder than factory exhaust, with the bmw having ansa straight pipes.
Don't mind the noise.

My spark plug wires are old and want to change them. I see few variations but a friend of mine recommended the ones with metal mesh. Where can I buy these from?

Valves have not been adjusted in a while.
I have a lift in my garage and can get to them easy but i need the feeler gauge (I guess i don't but the porsche specific makes life easier). Where can I get this gauge?

My car is 1976 and comes with black targa bar. Is this bar painted for this year and what is underneath? I like the chrome look, is it possible that mine is chrome underneath and I just need to strip the paint?

I am ok with the front suspension adjustment but can't figure out the rear. the car sits too high at the moment. I like my cars lowered. I did check the pelican articles but wondering if someone has step by step and is this something that is doable at home?

I am mechanically capable so don't be afraid to throw things at me. I've rebuild the engine on my 71 mercedes and done tons of other things.

I also see koni shocks on my car and front have fluid coming down (car has not been driven in few years). What is the best setup for street spiritied driving?

I'm sorry for the tons of questions.
Can't wait to get this car on the road and drive, have been looking for one for quite some time. Happy owner here.

What is the best place to buy the "H4" headlights, glass and rim? Check our host - they aren't cheap - about $850/pr from what I recall)

I have also seen headers, straight to the exhaust, what are the pros and cons of this setup. Look at SSI's. I just removed Cat - it's a bit louder but a nice throaty tone. Just make sure that you will not have issues passing emissions requirements, if applicable

Amazing, thank you very much.

Your headlights are commonly known as "sugar scoops" Originally had sealed beams in them (Id USA car) and someone put the better H4 conversions in them,

Most of the stuff you need or want can be found at a site called Pelican Parts..

Oh and take care of those headlight washer nozzles, they now cost a small fortune, dopnt use armor all.. try Aerospace 303

Under your targa bar is stainless steel (not chrome) which some people polish to a high finish. If you sand or strip the black paint, however, you'll almost never get back to the original texture so think long and hard before stripping the paint!

For heat exchangers, get SSIs, you can find them on eBay or anywhere - best compromise between power and convenience and sound...a 2-in-1 out M&K or Dansk muffler will get you the volume you're looking for :) or a Bisimoto pulse chamber...Google them

You need the feeler gauge specific to these engines, or you need to bend your own, straight feeler gauges won't work and will waste your time. Check out the Kirk valve lash adjustment tool, people seem to like them, but regular old feelers work too.

Beru spark plug wires are great, you can get them on here (pelicanparts.com)

Rear suspension height adjustment is done with the spring plates, it's a little trickier than the front. Doable at home but you'll need alignment etc. once you mess with it.

Plenty of threads on suspension setup- search the forums. Good luck and welcome!
