Heat Backdate for '77 911S

I backdated a '80 SC.... any differences in parts to backdate a '77 911S? Or reason's why not to? the heat on the '80 works just fine post-backdate, and sure cleans up the engine compartment....

The host carries one for the right and one for the left... the right looks pretty nice. The left looks like done by hand and mixed bag of reviews.... anyone had any experiences with it?

Thanks!

I just did my '77 and the Pelican "tin" worked perfectly- I believe the reviews that say it fits poorly are from before they reworked the design.

Some rumors abound that the heater blower motor helps on some of the midyears keep the motor a bit cooler, but I think most midyear folks have upgraded to a front mount cooler by now.

I did mine, the piece was fine, it's mostly hidden by the duct tube and the spark plug wires.

I had no issues backdating my '77 with the Porsche backdated pieces. Took the blower motor out too and heat was way more than I could ever want. I never had the levers past half after the first 5 minutes.

Any truth to said rumor?? What's a front mount cooler? Or are you just referring to the oil cooler lines up to the front ( which aren't on that car)!

I've got back-dated heat and exhaust (SSI's) on my '75 with an 11-blade fan. Plenty of heat in the cabin even at idle.

I think it refers to a mod that people made that allowed the blower to run without the heater levers pulled up so that the blower moved air through the heat exchangers and blew it out from the heat boxes to the outside instead of into the cabin, supposedly to help cool engine at low speeds.
